Devang Desai

Devang Desai is an associate with the firm. Prior to joining the firm in the Fall of 2004, Mr. Desai was with the international law firm of Steel, Hector & Davis, LLP. Mr. Desai concentrates his practice of law in the areas of insurance defense and products liability litigation. He also has experience in the fields of bankruptcy and creditor rights, along with government and regulatory matters.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Desai served as the Interim Ombudsperson and Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Miami. Before that, Mr. Desai was a legal assistant with Gaebe, Mullen, Antonelli, Esco & DiMatteo from 1994-2000. In the Fall of 2003, Mr. Desai served as the Rapporteur for the Government Procurement Workshop for the Eight America’s Business Forum in Miami during the Free Trade Areas of the Americas Conference. During law school, Mr. Desai had the opportunity to clerk for the Honorable Paul C. Huck of the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Desai is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and all Florida State Courts.

Mr. Desai is also an active member of the community. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association; Young Lawyer’s Division, the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar. He has served as a legal officer for student discipline at the University of Miami since 2003. Mr. Desai is also a member of the Young Leaders Society of the United Way of Miami-Dade County. He currently serves on the University of Miami Law School Alumni Board and is also the Chapter Advisor to his Fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha. Mr. Desai is an active member of the Order of the Arrow and Boy Scouts of America, where he is an Eagle Scout and recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.
