Elaine Walter
Elaine D. Walter, an associate, joined the firm in 2011 after a period of practice with an international law firm where she gained experience in the areas of bankruptcy, forum non conveniens, class action certification, arbitration, injunctive relief, bankruptcy, insurance defense, labor and employment, partnership and shareholder disputes, contracts, land use, planning and zoning, foreclosure, regulatory matters, malpractice and constitutional law.

Before entering private practice, Ms. Walter was a staff attorney to former Florida Supreme Court Justice Kenneth B. Bell, and also worked as a staff attorney in the Court's Central Staff. Ms. Walter focuses her practice exclusively on appeals and trial support.

Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked for seven years as a university administrator for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. While in law school, Ms. Walter interned for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Civil Division, as well as for former Florida Supreme Court Justice Raoul G. Cantero. She also participated in the University of Miami School of Law Summer Abroad Program hosted at the University College London.
Ms. Walter is an active member of the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Network, participating in recruiting efforts for the office of admissions, acting as a panel member for programs on clerking and private practice for the career development office, and interacting with students during the partnership for professionalism program through the dean of students office. She has also acted as a memorials and panel judge for the International Law Students Association's Jessup Moot Court Competition since 2006.
Ms. Walter is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the Dade County Bar Association, as well as the Rosemary Barkett Appellate American Inn of Court and the Third District Court of Appeal Historical Society. Ms. Walter has also been named by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine as a Florida Rising Star in 2009 and 2010. She was also a member of the team that received the Miami Daily Business Review's Most Effective Lawyer Award for Appeals in 2010.
