Liability
Products
liability refers to the liability of any or all parties who play
a part somewhere along the chain of manufacture for a particular
product or for damage caused by that product. Products liability
may include a manufacturer of component parts, an assembling manufacturer,
a wholesaler, or possibly a retail store owner. Usually, products
that contain defects which cause harm to a consumer of the product,
or someone to whom the product may have been loaned, are the subjects
of products liability suits. Additionally, products other than tangible
products may also be included within the scope of products liability,
including, but not limited to, intangibles such as gas and real
estate.
